Some more progress

I have made some progress on Daniel's blanket. I think I am finished with the stripes on one side of the blue center and have started working on the other side.

I am trying to add different textures along with the colors. The latest are these purple popcorns. I intended them to look like diamond shaped clusters of 4 bumps each.  Not sure if that's the way they read but they are there to stay!

I am using Caron's Simply Soft.  Love the yarn, but oh boy am I having trouble getting the skeins started. I can't seem to find the free end of the yarn easily.  Have you ever reached into the end of the skein hoping to pull out the loose end and ended up pulling out the skein's innards instead?   A special thanks to Kathy and Carol last night for untangling my latest rat's nest!

    1. Thanks Liz! I have enjoyed looking at your blog. Your sock monkey hat is adorable. My daughter loves sock monkeys too. She is in high school but I bet she'd still wear it around!

    1. Thank you Barbara! I am so pleased you like it! I have admired the work on your blog since I started this blogging thing in October. I'm thinking of joining the Beyond the Square challenge on your blog. I think my friend and TwoLuLa partner may already have the book. (Carol? Do you?)

  5. I'm new to crocheting and have been using google images to browse photos of so many creations. This blanket is the most beautiful item I've come across. I absolutely love the color scheme and the patterns. I was wondering if you have a pattern written down for this. This is my 3rd time coming to this blog entry, just to stare at the photo lol.

    1. You don't know how good your comment has made me feel! i am still grinning ear to ear! I don't have a pattern yet, but I could probably write something down and tell you the yarn colors I've used. Check back next week (I'm supposed to be cleaning the house right now for company coming tonite. Yikes!)

    3. Thanks Sheena. I haven't forgotten about this. As I continue to work on the blanket I've been looking at what I've already done so that I can write down the pattern. Didn't get to do much blogging this week. :(
